In the last few months I have had a chance to listen to the voices of many women who have read my recently published book ,”Women Are worthy: Why Perch Like A Chick When You Can Soar Like An Eagle”.
My book which chronicles my life and the challenges which I have faced with teen-age pregnancy, emotional abuse from my ex-husband, single -parenthood and the immigrant experience has presented the message that women can use challenges as stepping stones and soar above the fray.
As I reflected on the many emails, face-to-face chats ,and telephone messages it has become clear that women are really looking for avenues through which they can voice their opinions on the factors which affect their everyday lives. In spite of what is sometimes viewed as women’s denial of their situations I have come to realize that not all women are in denial but that there are not enough avenues through which they can safely express their views and still be seen in a non-judgemental manner.
For that I am thankful and humbled that so many women felt comfortable enough to discuss their challenges, weaknesses , hopes for the future and most often their personal experiences with emotional abuse. A big thank you to all who have kept in touch and asked for my assistance. Through my consulting business Women Are Worthy I will be offering a program RISEUP for women. Through the use of various tools you will be able to execute plans which will lead to success. Further information will be posted regarding the program . In the meantime, in spite of life’s challenges ,be thankful for the blessings and keep on striving to attain your goals.
